Story Behind Unique Innovation Technology and Perfect Music Purifier (PMP)
By Mitch Ko
Director, Co-Founder
I started my career as an electronic engineer and later as a fiber optic engineer .
In 2004, my previous company decided to invest in a company wide project to transfer analog video signal through fiber optic technology. I was involved as one of development leads within the project. The project was eventually closed internally. However, a new by - product product line was formed: use of fiber optic technology to transfer analog signal within Hi - End music system, which resulted in better music experience.
There were suspicious from multiple team members (include myself) on how much improvement did it really make and would public consumers welcomed it?
Positive feedback came from both consumer and senior reviewers proved the success of the technology itself: they agreed that the use of analog fiber optic cable did indeed improve the overall sound quality within a Hi - End music system. One can reference one review site at here and its actual review at here. Another review site is at here and its actual review is here.
Experience audiophiles know that the material of a signal cable will have a large impact over the sound quality of a Hi - End music system. Many companies around the world research in different material types and physical construction concepts to try to produce the best signal cable. It is a general agreement within audiophiles that a music signal cable with a good material type will indeed improve the sound quality. However, from an engineer's perspective, there is no definite way to test the relation between these material/physical construction concepts to music improvement. One famous example is the usage of Tube within audio components. Even though from engineer perspective, Tube does not produce the best analog signal from measurement, but it does provide one of the best music experiences.
As an engineer who designs electronic products and fiber optic products more than 20 years, I was searching for an answer for myself as to why fiber optic analog signal cable can have such effect on audio components. After multiple designs and tests, I eventually reached a conclusion: the elimination of possible ground loop circuit noise and Crosstalk within audio components.
Music components can be viewed as a massive signal producer. The electronic ground circuit connection between different components and the shared connection between left and right music channels (Crosstalk) can produce ground loop circuit noise and crosstalk. This noise and Crosstalk will degrade your audio experience: lifeless closed field with pressurized surrounding, noisy background, unclear details, no clear separation between left and right channels, roughness in high pitch, unclear alto and weak bass. This also provides an answer to previous question, while each audio component may produce a great result on music signal measurement, the measurement when all components are connected together is hard to predict.
Fiber optic analog signal cable solved the problem by using light to transfer the signal and therefore eliminating the ground loop circuit noise and the Crosstalk. However, the fiber optic design also had its downside, it still needed an electronic circuit to perform the transformation of electronic signal to light . This was a challenge as adding the extra electric circuit may pollute the signal again due to the noise come from power supply ground loop circuit. One solution was to utilize battery, but it also faced with battery lifetime as well as how long battery could last between each recharge. Better battery solution may help reduce problems for users, but it also makes the whole solution more expensive and complex as well as not solving the fundamental problem.
After leaving my previous company, I felt I enjoyed my work on utilizing electronic designs to bring a better audio solution, so I co - found Unique Innovation Technology Co. with other members to achieve such goal.
Our team revisited the problem from its root again: elimination noise and Crosstalk come from the ground loop circuit. We then come up with a new solution which compose of circuit designs to eliminate noise and Crosstalk within the music system. The design utilizes concepts from fiber optic technologies to isolate signal ground loop within the system. This solution will not need additional power supply, make it smaller in size and more friendly to portable devices. The result is a technology that brings you noticeable improvement * in your audio experience.
After multiple development and testing cycles, we are pleased to announce the Unique Innovation Technology Perfect Music Purifier series to our customers.
The Perfect Music Purifier (PMP) series will work with most headphones, music players and other Hi-End audio system in the market *. Once PMP is introduced within your audio system, you will have a noticeable improvement * in your audio experience: lively, open field with no pressure surrounding, quiet background, music instruments positioned in an orderly manner, clear separation between human voice and instrument sounds, crystal clear smooth high pitch, full rich alto, and strong bass. PMP product line will make you feel you are no longer wearing headphones, but actually sitting inside a live concert and enjoying its real time performance.
The Perfect Music Purifier (PMP) series product line is inspired by more than 10 years of engineering experience in both fiber optics and electronic engineering. The design utilizes concepts from fiber optic technologies to isolate ground loop noise and Crosstalk signals within the system. PMP technology aims to isolate ground loop noise signals between different music components. The noise is caused by power supply and the electronic ground circuit connection between different components and the shared connection between left and right music channels (Crosstalk). This noise will degrade your audio experience: lifeless closed field with pressurized surrounding, noisy background, unclear details, no clear separation between left and right channels, roughness in high pitch, unclear alto and weak bass. The Unique Innovation Technology Team overcomes these problems through proprietary circuit designs to eliminate ground loop noise within the music system. The result is a technology that brings you noticeable improvement * in your audio experience.
We will expand these concepts/designs to other product series.
